Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to address all parts of the task. While you explain why you want the job and mention your suitability, you completely omit the requirement to describe how you would spend your free time in Australia. Furthermore, the letter is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which prevents you from developing your ideas sufficiently. To improve, you must ensure every bullet point in the prompt is covered with detailed, relevant information and that you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for full task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks a clear structure. It consists of a very short opening and a few disjointed sentences that do not form a cohesive whole. There is a lack of paragraphing, and the transition between ideas is abrupt. To improve, you should organize your letter into clear paragraphs: one for the introduction, one for each bullet point, and a closing. Using cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' would help link your ideas more logically and improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'be the part of your house' and 'pretty suitable' are unnatural in this context. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'persuing' (spelling) and 'pop-up' (incorrect tense/usage). To achieve a higher band, you should aim for a wider range of vocabulary related to childcare and professional applications, and ensure you use words that are appropriate for a formal letter. Focus on using more precise terminology rather than relying on simple, conversational language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with article usage ('the part of your house'), verb tenses ('From the last five month i have been looking'), and punctuation (capitalization of 'i'). The sentence structures are simple and lack variety. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage. You should also practice using more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
