Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining the motivation, detailing suitability, and describing free-time activities. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of free-time activities is vague, mentioning 'mountain truching' (trekking) without providing a clear sense of how this fits into the Australian context. Additionally, there is a factual inconsistency in the opening where you mention a 'six month old baby' while the prompt specifies a 'six-year-old child'. While the task requirements are met, the content lacks the professional tone and specific detail expected in a formal application letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'And currently i am on Annual leave' starts a sentence with a conjunction, and the connection between ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'dedicate my work in to personal someone child', which hinders the flow of the argument. Improved use of linking words like 'furthermore' or 'consequently' would help, but they need to be used with greater precision to improve the overall logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors, such as 'Medum' for 'Madam', 'grect' for 'great', 'nursary' for 'nursery', and 'usucuy' for 'usually'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use professional terms like 'job opportunity' and 'reputable company', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common words and expanding your repertoire of professional collocations suitable for a formal letter of application.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'I am writing to inform you that you were looking for babysitter' (should be 'you are looking for a babysitter') and 'I have working with one of the reputable company' (should be 'I have been working with a reputable company'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters and sentence fragments. The frequent errors in verb tense and article usage indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic sentence construction.
