Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining the interest in the job, suitability, and leisure time activities. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of suitability relies heavily on being a 'home person' and a parent, which is a bit vague. The description of free time is also somewhat repetitive, focusing on parks and libraries without providing a clear, professional tone expected in a formal application. While the task requirements are met, the depth of the response is basic, and the tone is inconsistent for a formal job application.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. Phrases like 'in this way' are used repeatedly, which makes the flow feel unnatural. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the lack of varied linking words makes the text feel disjointed. While the overall message is clear, the progression of ideas lacks sophistication and the logical flow is hindered by the repetitive structure of the sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'beacause', 'realy', 'kisds', 'bordom', 'disoppinted', and 'enviornment'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple words like 'like', 'good', and 'happy'. There is little attempt to use more precise or professional language suitable for a job application. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to childcare and professional correspondence, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy, as these errors are frequent and noticeable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'i m also a parents'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'i realy enjoyd this thing'), and missing articles or incorrect word forms (e.g., 'i never disoppinted you'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing and capitalization errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors.
