Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for wanting the job, suitability, and free-time activities. However, the development of these points is quite limited. For instance, the explanation of suitability relies on a single sentence about being a father, and the description of free-time activities is somewhat repetitive and lacks detail. The tone is also inconsistent with a formal application letter, appearing more like a casual message. To improve, you should expand on your experience with children and adopt a more professional, polite tone suitable for a job application.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a formal letter. Ideas are presented in a single block, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your points. While there is a basic attempt to link ideas using words like 'so' and 'because', the overall structure is disjointed. To achieve a higher band, you must use clear paragraph breaks for each section of the letter and employ a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') to connect your sentences more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'looking for the job' and 'this job is best for me' are functional but lack the variety expected at higher levels. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'on problem to shift' instead of 'no problem moving'. You rely on simple, everyday language. To improve, try to incorporate more specific vocabulary related to childcare and professional employment, and ensure you use collocations correctly to convey your meaning more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the job', 'a visitor record'), verb tenses ('recently i am in visitor record'), and punctuation (missing capital letters for 'I' and at the start of sentences). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. The errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear, such as 'i have on problem to shift'. Focusing on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent capitalization will significantly improve your score.
