Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You explained your interest in the job, detailed your suitability through your studies and internships, and mentioned your free time activities. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the section on how you would spend your free time is quite brief and lacks specific detail about what you might do in Australia, such as visiting landmarks or exploring the culture. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more descriptive detail to fully satisfy the reader's expectations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical structure with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. You have used basic paragraphing to separate your ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition 'If I am talking about me' is unnatural and does not flow well. Additionally, there is a lack of varied linking words to connect sentences within paragraphs. Improving the use of transition signals (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') would help the ideas flow more smoothly and improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms such as 'internships', 'day care', and 'household chores'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'I did to many internships' (should be 'I completed several internships') and 'I am harshdeep kaur' (which is a capitalization error). To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to childcare and personal qualities, and pay closer attention to standard collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('I saw a advertisement that you give'), missing articles ('a advertisement'), and punctuation errors (spacing after commas and periods). Additionally, the closing 'Your faithfully' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'Yours faithfully'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors will significantly improve your score.
