Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining your motivation, highlighting your suitability, and describing your free-time activities. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention your experience in childcare, providing a specific example of a challenge you handled would have strengthened your application. Additionally, the explanation of your free-time activities is quite brief and could be expanded to show more engagement with the Australian culture or community. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of information provided is basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'not only because... but also' and 'in addition'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'As a same time'. The logical progression between sentences is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly. The use of referencing is mostly accurate, though some sentences feel a bit disjointed due to the repetitive structure of your opening phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'nutritional meals' and 'health-care professional'. There are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'an strong candidate' (should be 'a strong') and 'additional informational' (should be 'information'). You also use 'on free time' instead of the more natural 'in my free time'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over common collocations and word forms to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with articles ('an strong candidate', 'in a town') and prepositions. Subject-verb agreement and sentence construction also show inconsistencies, such as 'I know what is the roles and responsibilities involves in this job' (should be 'I know what the roles and responsibilities involved in this job are'). While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors suggests that your control over complex structures is not yet consistent enough for a higher band.
