You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child.

Write a letter to the parents. In your letter

• explain why you would like the job
• give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
• say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this to show my interest in a job which I have recently seen in an Australian magazine. According to the advertisement, this job requires an energetic and friendly individual to take care their six-year-old child and live with them for approximately six months.

I would highly appreciate you if you could consider me for this opportunity, because I am an immigrant with good experience with the children. I am currently enrolled in a master program in a university just nearby. It would be suitable for me, and would be convenient for you as well to manage both things simultaneously.

Furthermore, I used to take care of my younger siblings while my parents were away for work. That is why, I already know how to treat and take cara younger children. In addition to that, I can also help your child to learn my mother language during this time, and to help him to do his school work.

This job would save my time as I would not have to travel far for my studies. This way, I would be able to focus on my studies, and similarly could do better in taking care of your school-going child.

I am looking forward to a positive response from your side, and would appreciate it if you consider my application.
