Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt, but the development of ideas is quite limited. The letter is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. While you explain your interest and suitability, the points are stated rather than developed. For example, you mention your experience in babysitting but do not elaborate on the specific responsibilities you handled. To improve, you should expand on your qualifications and provide more descriptive details about your plans for your free time in Australia to meet the length requirement and demonstrate better task development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is divided into short paragraphs, which helps with readability. However, the logical flow is somewhat disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is minimal; for instance, you use 'Moreover' to start a paragraph, but the transition between your experience and your hobbies is abrupt. The referencing is also inconsistent, as you introduce yourself as 'Hardik Patel' but sign off as 'shivani'. This inconsistency creates confusion for the reader. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring a consistent persona throughout the letter would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'love to teach' and 'great experience'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'nursery kids school' and 'wonder of world'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to childcare and professional experience, and pay closer attention to standard English collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense ('I had seen', 'I never visited'), sentence fragments ('From my childhood my interest in the teaching profession'), and punctuation errors (e.g., 'Hardik Patel and. I had seen'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical structures. The errors occasionally impede the flow of reading. Focusing on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and correct punctuation would help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
