Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task prompt, addressing why you would like the job, detailing why you are a suitable candidate through your physiotherapy background and childcare experience, and briefly mentioning how you would spend your free time in Australia. However, some ideas lack full extension and development, particularly the explanation regarding your free time, which is somewhat abrupt and focuses heavily on crafting activities without linking them broadly to life in Australia. Additionally, the greeting 'Dear Sir' does not match the prompt's instruction to address the parents or the opening line 'Dear Sir or Madam,' though the communicative purpose is still achieved. These elements place the response firmly at Band 6, as all bullet points are addressed but some parts remain under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the letter logically into introduction, body, and conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly managed; the main body is compressed into a single, somewhat disjointed block of text rather than being broken into logical paragraphs for each prompt requirement. Cohesive devices are frequently faulty or mechanical, as seen in repetitive sentence starters like 'I have' and disjointed transitions such as 'When I arrive in australia. I also take an admission in navy course.' Referencing and referencing links are occasionally unclear, leading to a choppy reading experience. Overall, the organizational structure aligns best with a Band 5 due to the inadequate paragraphing and mechanical cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey basic professional details such as being a 'Physiotherapist' and understanding 'milestones' for 'child development'. However, the vocabulary is often limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic verbs and nouns. There are noticeable word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'enquiry related the job' instead of 'inquiring about the job' and 'take an admission in navy course'. Spelling is generally acceptable, but the limited range of vocabulary and frequent lexical inaccuracies constrain the score to a Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as fragment sentences ('Because I am a Physiotherapist.'), incorrect prepositions ('in the hospital and clinic also'), and tense confusion ('I have always spending in productive things'). Punctuation is also problematic, with improper sentence splitting ('For instance such as handling the child, how to laugh, how to take care, play with the child.'). While basic meaning is usually recoverable, these persistent errors cause difficulty for the reader and reflect the Band 5 descriptors for grammatical range and accuracy.
