You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child.

Write a letter to the parents. In your letter

• explain why you would like the job
• give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
• say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

I am writing to apply for the childcare position with your family for six months. I recently saw an advertisement in an Australian magazine about this vacancy. Also, I have over 3 years' experience in this sector, and I had already worked with several families to take care of their children especially under the age of 8.

Well, considering my prior experience and knowledge I would be a suitable person to employ for this work. Additionally, I have completed my degree of Childcare support. I have learned numerous skills and strategies to involve children in physical activities that are beneficial for their mental and physical growth.

I would appreciate it if you could give me this opportunity. Moreover, I love reading books. Hence, I can visit library and join a part-time course to spend my free time in Australia. I saw a cookery course related to children nutrition, so I might join that course.
