Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The candidate has attempted all parts of the task prompt, covering why they would like the job, their suitability, and how they would spend their free time in Australia. However, the development of these ideas is rather basic and somewhat repetitive. For instance, explaining the motivation is limited to stating 'I like to this position because i have keen interst to get a job in day care'. Similarly, the description of free time mixes personal hobbies like listening to music with childcare duties. While the response covers the key bullet points required by the task, the lack of fully extended and supported ideas places it at the Band 5.5 to 6.0 level. Overall, it addresses the prompt adequately but needs greater depth and clarity of expression to reach higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter exhibits a basic logical organisation with a clear beginning and ending, although the salutation uses 'Dear sir,' instead of the instructed 'Dear Sir or Madam,'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is somewhat disjointed; the second paragraph awkwardly merges job motivation, childcare duties, and visa status into a single run-on block of text. Cohesive devices are minimal, relying mostly on basic conjunctions ('and', 'because') and transitional phrases like 'Apart from that' and 'However', which are not always used logically (e.g., 'However' is used before describing free-time habits, where a contrast is unnecessary). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'look your child'. Progression is present but lacks smooth flow, aligning with the characteristics of a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively limited and repetitive, featuring basic terms and frequent spelling and word-formation errors such as 'interst' for interest, 'ussually' for usually, 'spent' instead of spend, and 'avery' instead of a very. The candidate attempts some less common phrasing, such as 'keen interst to get a job in day care' and 'outdoor activities', but these are undermined by persistent lexical inaccuracies and unnatural collocations (e.g., 'look your child', 'feed him in a avery good way'). While communication of the general meaning is mostly maintained, the errors and restricted range of vocabulary place this performance firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but the control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are multiple grammatical errors, including missing prepositions ('advertisement in Magazine for look after'), incorrect verb forms ('six-years-old' instead of six-year-old, 'i saw' with a lowercase 'i'), run-on sentences joined poorly by conjunctions, and punctuation errors such as spaces before commas ('Moreover ,'). Complex structures attempted by the candidate are frequently faulty or awkwardly phrased, leading to frequent errors that occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader. This corresponds to the descriptors for Band 5.0.
