IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child.

Write a letter to the parents. In your letter

• explain why you would like the job
• give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
• say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I came across your advertisement about full time care taking job for your child for six months, and I would love to take this oppurtunity during my college vacations. All the students are given an assignment on trying out something new during this summer, document it and present it in front of the class. This is a great oppurtunity for me to learn something new while having fun and also to earn some extra pocket money during my holidays.

I am 17 years old, extroverted fun loving person. Children and teens in my neighborhood loves to play with me. I'm great with kids, because I myself have younger siblings and one of them is about the same age as your child. I know how to keep them engaged in fun activities, both indoor and outdoors. I am great at making adolescents follow a routine that combines playing sports they like, tutoring them for school and proper meals.

In my free time i would love to explore Australian culture, museums and other historic places, take lots of pictures for my project at school. If you permit I would also like to take your son with me to some of the places that i will visit.

Looking forward to hearing some positive news from your side.
