Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, explaining why the writer would like the job, detailing suitability through motherhood experience, and stating how free time would be spent. However, some ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the explanation of wanting to live with a family because "i feel homesickness" is brief and lacks elaboration. Similarly, the description of free time activities like "cooking, travelling, shopping, cleaning" is listed without sufficient expansion. While the format follows a letter to the parents, the greeting "Dear Sir" is slightly inconsistent with the plural prompt "Dear Sir or Madam,", placing the response at a partially addressed level with limited idea development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter demonstrates some organisation with a logical overarching arrangement moving from purpose to suitability, free time, and a closing. However, overall progression lacks smoothness, and cohesive devices are somewhat mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on simple conjunctions like "and" and "moreover". Paragraphing is attempted to separate ideas, but referencing and transitions between sentences are sometimes faulty. For example, the transition between discussing childcare capabilities and free time activities in the third paragraph feels abrupt. The cohesive framework provides a coherent overall structure, but referencing could be managed with greater flexibility to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as "homesickness" and "numerous", but there are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation, such as "take care of your off spring" (offspring is treated as one word and sounds overly formal for a family advertisement) and "if i am free from my work". Spelling and punctuation mechanics also show recurring issues, such as missing spaces after commas and uncapitalised personal pronouns ("i"). These lexical limitations and errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader, fitting a restricted and basic resource profile.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing exhibits a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including tense and clause structure issues such as "regarding you are finding a person" and "according to the time and condition". Prepositional usage and article omission also recur, such as "As i am mother" instead of "As a mother". While the meaning can generally be parsed, these frequent errors require effort from the reader and place the grammatical control securely within the lower-mid range.
