Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three requested points: you explain that the job would help with your financial and personal circumstances, describe caring for your younger sibling, and mention wanting to explore Australia. These details are relevant, but the reasons for wanting the position and your suitability are only briefly developed. For example, you say you know your sibling’s routines and preferences, but do not explain how you would manage a six-year-old’s needs or what qualities make you dependable. The free-time point is also general: beaches and mountains are mentioned, but no specific activities or plans are given. The letter’s purpose is clear, though the opening and sign-off could be more appropriate and complete for a formal enquiry.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable letter structure, with separate paragraphs for your motivation, childcare experience, and leisure plans. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “Lastly” help signal the main points. However, progression is sometimes repetitive: the paragraph beginning “As i already mentioned” repeats the sibling-care information rather than adding a new supporting detail. The connection between your financial circumstances and why you want this particular live-in role could also be made clearer. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and the final lines are not clearly separated or punctuated as a conventional closing. Organise each paragraph around one distinct point and use references or transitions that show how the ideas build on one another.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “advertisement,” “taking care of,” “leisure time,” and “explore Australia.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the reader pause. For instance, “financial and personal shortcomings” does not clearly express the intended reason for applying, and “daily morning to evening habits” is an awkward way to describe a child’s routine. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “familier,” “mormning,” and “loook,” as well as inconsistent capitalisation of “I” and “Australia.” Choose more precise phrases and proofread carefully to improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your message is generally understandable, and you attempt to use both simple sentences and longer clauses, for example, “Since my childhood I have seen so many beautiful pictures…” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and agreement. Examples include “I would be appreciate,” “chance to having,” and “I have an experience of take care.” The fragment “Due to my financial and personal shortcomings” is not a complete sentence, while “if i will get” uses an unsuitable conditional form. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise accurate patterns such as “I would appreciate the chance to…” and “If I have free time, I would like to…” before attempting longer sentences.
