The reason i want to do the this job is because i feel extremely joyful and comfortable around young children. I am mother of a six year old and i am familiar with needs and wants if a young child. I would also like to mention i have worked as a support worker in a care home of children. Therefore, I hold a health and safety certificate as well. I am calm , attentive, responsible and confident individual who has detailed knowledge about the personality of young children. I firmly believe I am the perfect and right candidate for the above job role.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points and maintain a clear, relevant purpose: you explain your interest in caring for children, describe your experience and qualities, and mention activities you would enjoy in Australia. The details about being a mother of a six-year-old, working in a children’s care home, and holding a health and safety certificate make your suitability credible. This meets the task well, with some elements already showing the specificity expected of a stronger response. However, the reason for wanting this particular six-month live-in role could be developed further, and the free-time section is brief and lists activities without explanation. Add a little detail about what attracts you to Australia or how you would use your time there.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening that states your purpose, a paragraph about your experience and suitability, a short section on free time, and an appropriate closing. The ideas are generally easy to follow, and linking words such as “Therefore” and “I would also like to mention” help connect information. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the free-time sentence is isolated rather than developed. The phrase “I hope my skills and work experience…” repeats the suitability point without adding much. Grouping your motivation and qualifications more deliberately, then expanding the Australia paragraph, would create smoother progression. Clearer links between your experience and the needs of the child would also strengthen cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “support worker,” “health and safety certificate,” “attentive,” and “responsible.” These choices communicate your experience and personal qualities, and the reader can understand your main points. The range is adequate, but several expressions are awkward or repetitive, which limits precision and naturalness. For example, “extremely joyful and comfortable around young children” is not a natural way to express your motivation, while “perfect and right candidate” repeats the same idea. “Window shopping” is understandable but less suitable in a formal application letter. Aim for more precise collocations and a consistently professional tone, while retaining the relevant childcare vocabulary you already use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “I am writing this letter to show my interest…” and a sentence beginning “Therefore.” Most of the message remains understandable, and the letter’s purpose is clear. However, some errors in sentence construction, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. Examples include “I am mother of a six year old,” “I am familiar with needs and wants,” and “I like to spend my spare time while in Australia is by…”. The last sentence has an unnecessary second verb structure; write, for example, “I would spend my spare time in Australia watching movies, shopping, reading, and cooking.” Check capitalisation of “I,” spacing around commas, and sentence patterns when revising.
