Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points and maintain a clear, polite purpose: you apply for the role, mention your childcare course, and explain that you hope to explore Australia in your free time. The reasons are relevant, but some are less fully developed than others. For example, the course is useful evidence of suitability, yet you do not give practical details about caring for a child, such as experience, patience, or safety awareness. Your reason for wanting the job focuses mainly on gaining experience for future reference, and the leisure-time plan remains general. Adding one or two specific details to each point would make the letter more complete and persuasive while retaining its clear focus.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: the opening states your purpose, the following paragraphs cover motivation and suitability, and the later paragraphs discuss free time and close politely. Paragraphing helps the reader identify the main points, and expressions such as “because” and “not only … but” show attempts to connect ideas. Some links are mechanical or unclear, however. The long sentence about exploring places combines several ideas, and “this particular position” and “this field” rely on broad references rather than precise connections. A clearer progression within paragraphs, with shorter sentences where ideas change, would make the cohesion more natural and bring the organisation closer to a consistently smooth flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the purpose and includes some less common expressions, such as “reputable university,” “potential candidate,” and “at your earliest convenience.” These choices help create a formal tone. There are also several inaccurate or awkward choices that limit precision: “for future reference” does not clearly express how the experience will help your career, “child’s care” is less natural than a standard childcare expression, and “different cultural” is not the correct form for the intended meaning. “Lesuire” is also misspelled, and “bucket list” is rather informal for this letter. Choose more natural collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will make your meaning clearer and your register more consistently appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the clause beginning “as it will provide me” and the “not only … but” construction. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in basic patterns. For example, “I would like apply” needs an infinitive marker, and “I would be suitable person” needs an article. In “I recently have completed,” the tense and word order are awkward; “I have recently completed” is the natural form. The sentence about cultural experiences also has a mismatch between “not only” and “but it also.” Review articles, verb patterns, and parallel structures, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation, especially the comma before “If.”
