Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's era, online shopping plays an important role in the society because these days most of people prefer to shop online as compared to in-person shopping. But I disagree with the statement that the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing because as we all know that not everyone enjoying online shopping.
In my opinion, people still choose shopping from the local shops as they feel more satisfaction in that. Because they can feel the texture of the product and dimensions what they would like to purchase from the local shops. As per the survey in last year, the researchers come to the point that now these days, 20% more people doing shopping form their local stores in their cities as compared to the number of 2024's survey. There are a lot of things that we cannot buy it online such as fresh vegetables, mirrors and decoration stuff with particular dimensions. So that's why people choose physical shopping for these kind of products. I can understand that we can bought this online as well but in actual, we cannot feel that kind of satisfaction that we received after personally shopping from local stores.
In conclusion, I would like to say that shopping is very important part in everyone's life in this society, it doesn't matter if it's online or in-store shopping, everyone loves it both ways. Everyone should have to give chances to the local stores by shopping from there, so that they can earn for themselves as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that all physical shops will close. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the tactile nature of shopping and the inability to buy certain items online, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The reference to a 'survey' is vague and lacks specific context, which weakens the support for your position. To improve, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-explained point rather than restating the same sentiment about 'satisfaction' multiple times. The conclusion introduces a new idea about supporting local businesses, which should have been integrated into the body paragraphs for better development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into three paragraphs, which is a standard structure. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'In my opinion' and 'In conclusion', but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. For example, the jump from discussing product texture to mentioning a survey is quite sudden. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'we cannot buy it online', where the pronoun 'it' does not clearly refer to the plural items listed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical flow between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'important role', 'good things', and 'shopping from the local shops'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'dimensions what they would like to purchase' and 'we can bought this online'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to commerce, consumer behavior, and economic trends. Avoid repeating the same words (e.g., 'shopping', 'local shops') and instead use synonyms or more descriptive terminology to demonstrate a wider lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('not everyone enjoying', 'researchers come to the point'), incorrect verb forms ('we can bought'), and awkward phrasing ('as per the survey in last year'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are run-on or lack necessary commas. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb tense usage and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
