Student answer (Band 6.5)

All the shops in the towns and cities will be shut down due to the increasing popularity of the online shopping. I disagree with the statement this statement, as individuals are scared of being scammed and have less trust on the online products.

Then inclination towards not to purchase products via online platforms is the fear of being scammed. For purchasing the things online, individuals need to enter their bank details into online applications. Scammers use this information to take money from bank account. As a result, people's mind stress is increased as their hardcore income is stolen by the scammers. For example, A reserch conducted in India shows, 60 percentage of the online scams is increased, becuase of the excessive use of the online shopping applications.

Another reason of choosing the products by visiting the shops is not having trust with quality of the online prodcuts. Many times situation happen that people recieves the less quality of the the material than what they see in the online plateforms. After recieving the bad prodcuts, the return process is also very hard, and sometimes they can not return the products. So, Individuals feels that online plateforms cheat them and loose the trust. For example, a study conducted on the 100 individuals in the Cambridge university shows more than half of the individuals have the more trust on the offline products than the online.

In conclusion, apart from having the so many benefits of choosing a product by visiting the store, we can not ignore the benefits of onine shooping.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that all physical shops will close. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide two main reasons—fear of scams and concerns regarding product quality—the supporting arguments are repetitive and rely on anecdotal or questionable evidence (e.g., the 'Cambridge university' study). To reach a higher band, you should expand on the counter-arguments or provide more nuanced reasoning regarding the future of retail, such as the 'omnichannel' experience where physical and digital stores coexist. The conclusion is also abrupt and does not effectively summarize your main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Then inclination' is an awkward transition, and the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the less quality of the the material'. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the essay feel somewhat repetitive. Improving the variety of transition signals would significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'online platforms' and 'online shopping', and there are several word-choice errors, such as 'hardcore income' (likely meaning 'hard-earned income') and 'mind stress'. Additionally, there are frequent spelling errors like 'reserch', 'becuase', and 'prodcuts'. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling accuracy, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including article misuse ('the less quality of the the material'), subject-verb agreement issues ('Individuals feels'), and awkward phrasing ('Many times situation happen'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement. Try to incorporate more complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, but ensure they are used accurately to avoid creating further errors.
