Student answer (Band 7.0)
Online shopping will take over all the shopping outlets from big metropolitan cities to small towns because it is getting so popular among the individuals these days. I strongly agree with this viewpoint as online shopping is time saving and it allows people to spend money wisely.
Firstly, buying products through online means enables people to save their valuable time. With the recent upgradation in the technology sector, purchasing has become comparatively faster. Now, shopping can be done with just a click of a button. From daily necessities to trending items everything can be purchased by sitting in your living room. For example, At the time of festivals, goods can be purchased through various online websites without wasting time by standing in the long queues. Therefore, I believe, physical existence of the shops will come to an end in the near future as online purchasing is extremely convenient.
Secondly, online shopping comes with a variety of options, allowing individuals to make informed choices. There are a number of websites that offer different prices, providing individuals an opportunity to compare prices and choose the one that fits their budget. For instant, In India, Flipkart and Myntra both the applications sell similar kind of goods at different prices, however customers prefer to buy from Flipkart as it is comparatively cheaper. Hence, online shopping is cost-friendly.
To conclude, there are high chances that the physical shops will no longer be operating in the near future as online shopping is growing fast. I strongly favor this notion as shopping from online sites is time-saving and it provides a large variety, enables individuals to choose according to their pocket so, it is cost-effective as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The arguments regarding time-saving and cost-effectiveness are relevant and supported by examples, such as the mention of Flipkart and Myntra. However, the response is somewhat one-sided; it fails to acknowledge any counter-arguments, such as the social value of physical shops or the tactile experience of shopping, which would have provided a more balanced and nuanced discussion. While the ideas are developed, they could be extended further to reach a higher band by exploring the potential long-term societal impacts beyond just convenience and price.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic sentence. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the general point about technology and the specific example of festivals is slightly abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'metropolitan', 'necessities', and 'cost-effective'. However, there are some awkward collocations and minor errors, such as 'upgradation in the technology sector' (should be 'advancements in technology') and 'similar kind of goods' (should be 'similar types of goods'). The range is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'At the time of festivals' (should be 'During festivals') and 'For instant' (should be 'For instance'). Additionally, there are some punctuation issues, such as the comma splice in '...according to their pocket so, it is cost-effective as well.' While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement will help elevate your score in this criterion.
