Student answer (Band 6.5)
2)
Todays, online shopping has become very popular because it is fast, convenient, save time and offer cheaper. Some people belive that it will replace all physical store however I disagree with this opinion because I think both online and offline shops will continue to exist.
on the on hand people believe that online shopping offers muny advantages. People can buy products from home at any time without travelling. They can also compare prices easily and choose from a wide range of product. also Many websites provide large discounts and home delivery which save time and money. For excmple people perefer buying clothes, electronice iteme,
books, grocery because it is more convenient.
On the one hand physical shops still play an important role because many customers like to see, touch or try products before purchasing them. This is especially true for such items as clothes, shoes, jewellery and fresh food. Shopping centres provide a social experience where people can spend time with family and friends. Local stores also create employment and support the local economy.and also help to make memory together. Some time they also offer discount on special occasion.
In my opinion online shopping will continue to grow, but it will not completely replace traditional shops. Many businesses will combine online and offline service to meet customers different need.
In conclusion online shopping is becoming more popular. I believe that physical shops will remain an important part of our lives because they offer benefits that online shopping cannot fully replace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that physical shops will disappear. The ideas are relevant, such as the social aspect of shopping and the need to inspect goods, which are well-supported. However, the development is somewhat uneven; the second paragraph ends abruptly with a list of items, and the argument could be strengthened by more detailed explanations of how businesses might adapt. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point is fully extended with a clear example or logical consequence rather than just listing items.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'on the one hand' and 'in conclusion', though there are some mechanical errors in their application (e.g., 'on the on hand'). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the benefits of online shopping and the examples provided is disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two sides of the argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the flow between sentences is smoother and less repetitive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'physical store', 'local economy', and 'social experience'. However, there are several spelling errors ('belive', 'muny', 'excmple', 'perefer', 'electronice', 'iteme') and some awkward phrasing ('offer cheaper', 'make memory together'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and expanding your range of collocations to sound more natural and precise in your arguments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('it... offer cheaper'), article usage, and punctuation (e.g., 'and also help to make memory together. Some time they also offer discount...'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation are noticeable. To achieve a higher band, the student needs to focus on sentence construction, ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that punctuation is used correctly to separate independent clauses, rather than relying on run-on sentences or fragments.
