Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people says that due to the fast growth of online shopping all the shops and stores across cities and towns are going to closedown in the upcoming years. In this essay I would like to discuss by I completely disagree with the statement.
To begin with, online shopping platforms have been widely used by many people across the world as it is easy to review and get details about the products without making the time to go directly to the store for purchasing. It also provides door to door delivery options along with same day delivery. Amazon and Flipkart are the two major online shopping platforms that has been used widely.
However, there are certain businesses that cannot sell their products through online platforms. For example, if a bride wants to buy her wedding gown and need to try them on before making the final decision online shopping platforms are not the reliable option. It is always better to go directly to a store and discuss with the sales associate inorder to find the best ones that match her concept. Additionally, there is a massive difference in prices in stores as compared to online platforms. Stores will provide various gift vouchers and discount coupons. Another important thing to point out is that If we are buying clothes online there will be difference in the original colour of the dress as compared to the one shown in the picture. In store purchases helps to save from all these kind of traps as compared to the online stores.
In conclusion, eventhough, online shopping has a significant impact on shopping behaviours it is not going to replace the importance and existance of stalls and stores.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that all physical shops will close. You provide relevant arguments, such as the need for physical interaction for certain goods like wedding gowns and the benefits of in-store experiences. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about price differences is mentioned but not fully explained in terms of how it ensures the survival of physical stores. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more depth and ensure that all arguments directly support your central thesis throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'Additionally' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. There are also minor issues with referencing and logical progression; for example, the transition between the benefits of online shopping and the limitations of physical stores could be smoother. The conclusion is quite brief and could more effectively summarize the main points presented in the body paragraphs to provide a stronger sense of closure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'platforms', 'reliable option', and 'significant impact'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'making the time to go' (instead of 'taking the time') and 'existance' (spelling error). You also use 'traps' in a way that is slightly unnatural in this context. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your spelling is accurate. Expanding your range to include more topic-specific vocabulary related to retail and consumer behavior would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Some people says' (subject-verb agreement), 'discuss by I completely disagree' (preposition error), and 'need to try them on' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the misuse of commas in 'eventhough, online shopping'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage will help improve your accuracy significantly.
