Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's world, technology has its effect in every aspect of human life. Shopping is among one of them. Due to the advancements in technical sector, many people prefer to buy goods or services via internet because of its large number of benefits. However, this mode of shopping is posing threat to the existence of offline purchasing as any people argue. However,I disagree with this thinking due to number of reasons which I'll explain in the following paragraphs.
To begin with reasons, the first one is the quality of shopping via internet. There are many cases when the quality, colour, shine and many other things of an online product differ significantly from the one that people received at home after purchasing it online. Therefore, many people prefer to buy product personally in shopping outlets by checking its quality and other things at same time. Furthermore, in shopping malls, people can also take the services of sales personnel to buy products as per their needs and requirements
Apart from above, in offline shopping, there are no technical issues arise like in online shopping such as server down, product return and refund etc. Absence of these factors in offline purchasing makes it more convenient. In addition to this, people of any age group make purchases by visiting shopping centres and outlets personally. But in case of online buying, they struggle to keep up with modern technology. For example, they are more prone to online fraud activities in case they have to make electronic payments digitally to conduct online shopping.
In my opinion, irrespective of benefits of online shopping, shopping outlets will remain in existence due to their unique services available to all kind of people and kind of experience they are offering to general public.

| Criterion | Band |
|---|---|

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have clearly stated your position and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas presented, such as the importance of physical inspection and the convenience of in-person service, are relevant and logically developed. However, the response could be improved by providing more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. For instance, when discussing online fraud, you could briefly mention a specific type of security risk to strengthen your argument. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively, providing a balanced view while firmly supporting your disagreement with the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition to this' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the flow between sentences is more natural rather than relying on standard list-like connectors. The progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'online fraud', 'electronic payments', and 'shopping outlets'. However, there are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'technical sector' instead of 'technology sector' and 'any people argue' instead of 'many people argue'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and less common lexical items. Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your ideas, but it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'Shopping is among one of them' (should be 'one of them') and 'no technical issues arise' (should be 'no technical issues arise' or 'do not arise'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will help improve your accuracy and overall control of complex structures.
