The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The online shopping trend has decreased the business growth of all local shops in rural and urban areas. Ultimately, it will result in the closing of these shops permanently. I am strongly agree with this statement and give my reasons behind this notion in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence of, online shopping is really popular among the youth and younger citizens thanks to promotions and the information available on electronic gadgets. As a result, people can purchase any item while sitting at their homes in some clicks. Thus, it saves a lot of time and a flexible option. Moreover, we can access the plethora of variety on one website and have the option of international purchase. Furthermore, there are too many promotion and discounts available during the online purchase. For example, online promotional codes help the individual to save up to 70% on their online purchase.
However, it has some negative effects on the environment and for local markets. Firstly, plastic packaging bags which are used to deliver the online ordered products create garbage which creates soil and air pollution. Secondly, local market
