Student answer (Band 5.5)

The demand of shopping with internet increasing day by day as a result it will close all shops and cities. I am agree with this point. Now a days all individuals are very busy as they are working seven days in week .Apart from this they have to do a lot of things like doing groceries, household things, cleaning .They are busy all day as a result online shopping is very good option for these. The survey conducted by The Hindu reveals that in this era 90% of the people are doing online shopping because they have no time to go to store. The second reason for interest in online shopping is in this era people become very lazy .To explain it ,they are in their comfortable zone and they are not going outside. They like to order online. Moreover ,sometime buying things online give a alot of offers on items which attract the customers to buying online. Thats why they prefer to buy things online. As a result it will effect walk in store , they will close one day. The survey conducted by oxford university in 2050 tells that 10 % percent of individuals are using walk in stores. On other side there are too many disadvantages of online shopping. One of them is no clarity for item. For instance someone is ordering a shirt of medium size but the person get the shirt too big. Then its too difficult to exchange the item for example it takes long time .Sometime it wastes time and money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you provide reasons such as convenience, laziness, and discounts, these points are not fully extended or supported with convincing logic. The inclusion of specific statistics (e.g., '90% of people' or 'Oxford University in 2050') appears fabricated and does not serve as a genuine example or evidence. To improve, focus on providing more realistic, logical explanations for your arguments rather than relying on invented data. The conclusion is somewhat abrupt and does not fully synthesize the points made.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Apart from this', 'Moreover', and 'As a result', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or feel repetitive. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly when moving from the advantages of online shopping to the disadvantages. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a singular, well-developed focus will enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'very good option', 'very busy', and 'very lazy'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I am agree' (should be 'I agree') and 'effect walk in store' (should be 'affect physical stores'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to commerce and consumer behavior, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include missing articles ('go to store'), incorrect verb forms ('buying things online give a alot of offers'), and punctuation errors. There is also a lack of variety in sentence structure, with many sentences following a similar pattern. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and varying your sentence length and complexity to demonstrate better control over English grammar.
