Although a growing segment of the population inclined towards shopping online, there are people who wants to buy in store and a literacy in disconnected areas keeps alive traditional buying.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed the prompt by providing a clear position that online shopping will not lead to the total closure of physical stores. You support this with arguments regarding the social experience of shopping and the digital divide. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. While the point about digital literacy is interesting, the explanation of how this prevents store closures could be more robust. The example regarding the 'twenty percent' of small-town users is a good attempt at support, but the overall argument would benefit from more depth regarding the future of retail beyond just the current digital divide. Your position is clear throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'As a result', and 'On the contrary' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition between the social aspect of shopping and the digital literacy argument is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between 'literacy of use' and the conclusion is somewhat repetitive. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'ecommerce', 'brick and mortar', and 'empirical evidence'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations that hinder precision. For example, 'literacy in disconnected areas' is not a standard collocation, and 'the internet is not reached to all the people' is grammatically and lexically imprecise. Furthermore, phrases like 'surrounding nature of the technology' and 'tier one citizens' are slightly unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and avoiding repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'which lead to closure', 'people who wants to buy'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'not this not the case with tier one citizens'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
