Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address the topic of online shopping, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. You state your position, but the supporting points—such as convenience and marketing reach—are presented in a very brief manner. To achieve a higher band, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples. The conclusion is also very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or provide a final thought on the future of physical retail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Furthermore' to signal the progression of your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the connection between ideas could be smoother. For example, the transition from discussing online marketing to the benefits of delivery is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'most business have engage on the online visibility', where the link between the subject and the action is weak. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'online marketing', 'shopping', and 'business'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'delivery to you' (should be 'delivered') and 'product are been showed' (should be 'products are being shown'). These errors occasionally hinder the clarity of your message. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the retail industry, such as 'e-commerce', 'consumer behavior', 'brick-and-mortar stores', and 'market penetration'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There is a high frequency of grammatical errors throughout the text, which often impedes communication. You struggle with subject-verb agreement ('most business have engage'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, such as the opening sentence which is a long, fragmented clause. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'where customer review and purchase there product faster'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and using appropriate articles and prepositions.
