Student answer (Band 6.0)
Due to advancement in technology they growth of online shopping has increased and due to which someday in coming years all the shops in towns and city will be closed. I disagree with the above statement and I will discuss the reasons in the below paragraphs.
on one hand, Technological development has brought convenience at people doorstep. numerous activities are now available online like shopping, food delivery and much more. yet, Many people still prefer buying goods offline because of various advantages like cost, feel and try on option. Further, offline shopping is the way of interacting with different people and it also helps them maintaining their health by walking around while purchasing.
On the other hand , there has been a rise in online shopping due to its convenience of receiving the goods and services at the door step.Further it also allow people to get variety of options like colour and size as well as the option to check the reviews. Further, online shopping also provides the option of price comparison from many different vendors and can choose the best option. For instance, while people compare the price and review before purchasing and this helps them get the best deal.
In Conclusion, I believe that online shopping has increased which has lead to reduction in the number of shops. In my opinion, it would not lead to complete closure of all shops. Because, there are plenty of benefits of shopping offline and due to which people prefer advantage of cost, feel and try on option over convenience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the total closure of physical shops. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For example, the second and third paragraphs both focus heavily on the convenience of online shopping, which makes the argument feel circular rather than progressive. While the student provides reasons for their stance, such as the tactile experience of shopping and social interaction, these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion also contradicts the introduction slightly by stating that online shopping has led to a reduction in shops, which weakens the overall consistency of the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'on one hand', 'on the other hand', and 'in conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the word 'further' is used at the start of three consecutive sentences in the third paragraph, which disrupts the flow. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between ideas feel abrupt. While the overall progression is discernible, the lack of variety in linking words and some awkward phrasing within sentences limits the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. The student relies on basic terms like 'good', 'best', and 'many', and there are some issues with collocation and word choice, such as 'maintaining their health by walking around' and 'try on option'. While the meaning is clear throughout, the essay does not demonstrate the ability to use less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions effectively. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'they growth' instead of 'the growth', which slightly detract from the professional tone of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('they growth of online shopping has increased'), missing articles, and punctuation errors, such as the space before the comma in 'On the other hand ,'. While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. The student attempts complex structures, but these are often where the errors occur, suggesting a need for more practice with sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy.
