Student answer (Band 6.5)
A growing popularity of online shopping is responsible for closing of a number of shops in the cities. As accessibility of online shopping platforms, reasonable prices and other facilities encourage customers to prefer modern shopping trends, whereas it leads to unemployment and cannot replace the enjoyable experience of traveling for shopping. Therefore, I partially agree with the give statements.
On the one hand, millions of the people across the world follow current shopping trend for their convenience. Such as, online websites sales various items like clothes, grocery, footwear, toys and jewellery, which promotes the busy employees to buy needy things at their comfort place without travelling and spending time for it, because online stores are 24 hours open for shopping. Consequently, it save their valuable time, transportation cost and get discounts on goods during certain festival or events. Therefore, availability, accessibility and convenient of online shopping websites encourage the consumers to do their shopping via digital methods instead of in-person visit to shops.
On the other hand, closing of shops has negative effects on the local business and disturb the economy of individual city. In the competitive business market, it would be challenging for small shoppers to compete with online shopping stores. Which ultimately reduce their revenue generation and place economical pressure on them due to majority of customers prefer latest shopping methods as compare to traditional one. Hence, they have to close their shops and find learn other skills to get new job. However, it would be arduous for them to meet the demands of their family and provide basic facilities. Furthermore, purchasing clothing from shops would be ideal, as it require trying the clothes and checking perfect size.
In conclusion, plenty of online shopping benefits promote the local community to do their shopping, because it is comfortable, budget-friendly and reduce the spending of time and energy behind travelling. However, sometimes people get wrong products, it would be difficult to get perfect size clothes and physical shopping work as a leisure activity in order to spend some quality time with friends and family. Therefore, a balanced approach would be preferable, which support the local business and strengthen the economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by providing a clear position and supporting it with relevant arguments. You acknowledge the convenience of online shopping while highlighting the economic and social importance of physical stores. The ideas are generally well-developed, though some points, such as the claim that shopkeepers will 'find learn other skills,' could be more clearly articulated. Your position is consistent throughout the essay, and you provide a balanced conclusion that reflects your initial stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are slightly more specific to strengthen the depth of your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Consequently,' and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and sentence flow. For instance, the phrase 'Which ultimately reduce their revenue' is a sentence fragment that disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each sentence connects smoothly to the next will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accessibility,' 'competitive business market,' and 'arduous.' However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'promotes the busy employees to buy needy things' and 'convenient of online shopping.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more sophisticated synonyms for everyday words like 'good' or 'bad' to demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('it save their valuable time,' 'it require trying') and incorrect article usage ('the closing of shops'). While these errors rarely impede the reader's understanding, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly to avoid fragments or run-on sentences.
