Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this world full of technology internet market is growing very fast. Its not online providing easy availability but also make it easy for customer shopping but of the the other side many believe it is the reason of closing shops in rural and develop areas. I am completely disagree with this statement. This essay will discuss on this topic briefly.

To begin with, online shopping is in trending everywhere but shopping from shop have there own benefits. Firstly, Online shopping giving access to the small company owner to sell there stuff online and reach the worldwild customer. This thing not only help to increase the sale but give shopkeeper to earn more profit and expand there offline business. Secondly, tradition shopping is very difficult to replaced but online shopping because some items where customer prefer to visit store and purchase it in person so that they can check policies.

Moreover, there are many online shopping platform that provide open to the shops that they can keep the inventory in there warehouse that help to save lot of money because they do have to busy a place to keep there stock safe. They can use this money in other options that help them to grown business. For instanse, Amazon have warehouses in almost every cities they store vendors stock in the warehouse and directly ship that product from the warehouse. This chain help vendor to save storage money but as well as save shipping cost for amazon.

To conclude, I believe people are for interested in online shopping but it cannot replace the experience and the benefits of in person shopping. The growth of this trend is fruitfull for shop owner and online platforms in long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that all shops will close. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While you provide reasons such as the benefits of in-person shopping and the synergy between online and offline business models, some points are under-developed or slightly confusing, such as the explanation of inventory management. The argument is relevant, but the supporting examples could be more specific and better integrated to fully explore the implications of the prompt. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained argument that directly supports your thesis statement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between online platforms and offline business expansion is a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'inventory,' 'warehouse,' and 'vendors.' However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'internet market is growing' instead of 'e-commerce,' 'shopping from shop' instead of 'physical retail,' and 'busy a place' instead of 'rent a space.' These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on basic descriptive phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('online shopping giving access'), article usage, and pluralization ('all shops in towns and cities', 'small company owner'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing commas that would help clarify your meaning. The errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips will help improve your accuracy.
