Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nations are developing rapidly owing to technological advancement. A group of people thinks that offline shops will be close one day due to growth of online product sales; however, I believe that online platforms will open more doors for offline shop owners to enhance there revenues. This will be discussed in the essay.
On the one side of the coin, local business owners can use internet and other social media platforms to enhance there product awareness. People from different regions can see those online details and can place there orders. Therefore, business owners can get plenty of new customers apart from there local surroundings. For example, business owners use amazon to improve the product sale globally. If shops in towns and cities uses online platforms wisely, they may get unbelievable benefits.
Moreover, local products are becoming world class brand due to online shopping platforms. People leave reviews for different online purchased products. Whichever product range gets highest number of positive feedback, it became a branded product. For instance, ZARA became world famous brand because of online platforms instead of its offline stores. Therefore, shop owners can create a world class brands by using internet.
On the flipped side of the coin, a number of people believe that online shopping will remove the offline shop culture since they are not a tech friendly. Due to this reason, they are not aware of positive side of online business.
Overall, some people thinks that online platforms of shopping will lead to shop closing; I believe that online shopping trends can create more business growth as well as brand creation opportunity for local shop owners.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you argue that online platforms help offline shops, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the example of ZARA is factually questionable, as ZARA is primarily a brick-and-mortar retail giant that expanded into e-commerce, rather than a brand created solely by online platforms. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments, perhaps acknowledging the challenges faced by small businesses while explaining why they will adapt rather than disappear. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, and the counter-argument paragraph is underdeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one side of the coin' and 'Moreover' to link your points. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the link between the counter-argument paragraph and the rest of the essay could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the final paragraph is quite brief and does not add much to the overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'technological advancement' and 'product awareness'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and confusion between homophones, such as 'there' instead of 'their' (used multiple times) and 'close' instead of 'closed'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people thinks', 'shops... uses') and article usage. There are also minor punctuation and spelling issues throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing your control over basic grammar and proofreading for common slips like 'there/their' would significantly improve your writing.
