Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent years, technological inventions have made human lives more easy and comfortable, so it is often debated whether the continue growth of remote shopping could close the all shops in towns and cities. Even though online shopping offers several benefits such as convenience to users, I strongly believe that it could not completely shut down local shops because they give an opportunity to inspect products prior to buy.
To begin with, online shopping is becoming popular among individuals because it is the most convenient way to do shopping. Since people have been become more busy due to demanding work schedules especially who live in big cities, they are more inclined towards to buy online products. Consequently, it is not only resist their need to go shops but also offers them more time to rest. To cite an example, a recent study by the Oxford University shows that professions such as doctors and nurses prefer to more remote shopping because they do not have time to do it. Furthermore, mobility users confront difficulties while going for shopping as they cannot walk or go without someone's support. As a result, they do online shopping for making their living easy.
However, online shopping could not close the all shops because it does not provide a chance to examine the quality. As online shopping only shows the pictures of products on their websites, some people prefer to check before buying. Therefore, they may have distrust on online products, tend to buy from local shops. For instance, online websites can send false products which further can waste money. In addition, online goods take time to get delivered whereas individuals can buy them right away from shops. So, this is also the reason for choosing shopping from shops over online.
To conclude, although it is undeniable that online shopping give a chance to buy things from the comfort of homes to people, some people demonstrate reluctance in online shopping, and prefer to buy from local for quality purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding convenience and the need for physical inspection are relevant and supported with examples. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the point about 'mobility users' is a bit specific and could have been integrated more smoothly into a broader argument about accessibility. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better summarised the main points to reinforce the position. Overall, the response is well-focused on the prompt, but could benefit from more depth in the supporting arguments to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Consequently', 'However', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and some transitions feel slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly clunky, which occasionally affects the flow of ideas. Overall, the progression is logical and the structure is coherent.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'inclined towards' and 'undeniable', which is positive. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'continue growth' (should be 'continued growth'), 'resist their need' (should be 'reduce their need'), and 'false products' (should be 'counterfeit' or 'inferior products'). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise word usage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'made human lives more easy' (should be 'easier'), 'the continue growth' (should be 'the continued growth'), 'have been become' (should be 'have become'), and 'prefer to more remote shopping' (should be 'prefer remote shopping'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of these grammatical slips prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The writer demonstrates an ability to construct complex sentences, but accuracy remains inconsistent.
