Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is undeniable that nowadays people are using social media platforms to buy goods or the services. In this regard, the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing. I agree upto large extent with this notion due to many reasons which will be outlined in forthcoming fragments with relevant conclusion.

To commence with, the growing population in our asian country lead to increase of using the online shopping rather than the offline shopping. Social media platforms like amazon, flipkart, myantra offering huge discounts on products on buying them. It is easily accessible through smart phones, tablets and laptops. It is easy and convenient to use. Also have a free subscription and charges of using app. By operating at home as well as in office. It also showcase numerous wide range of specific product quality, types, colour, size. Also, mentioning the proper details of manufacturer and the supplier with warranty and guarantee card. Instead of going out to the market, we can easily accessible through phones to buy product, without usage of the vehicles and transport system. Saving of petrol and diesel makes a green house effect more effective. Also, buying product online, shows the tracking. System where its deliver or delivered to their home with any problem with the facility of exchanging and refundable option of desired product. For, instance many teenagers are buying product online in festive seasons like diwali, holi and gifting to their relatives without going their place, who is living in distance level like in abroad or any other state.

However, the growing usage of social media leads to impact main on the teenage children mental and physical weakness. By continuous usage of buying and using social apps leads to brain damage and repeatedly continuous seeing the screen having eye damage also. Not going out in public markets, towns and cities results in slow confidence, demotivation around in them. Lack of public speaking and outreaching in parks and how to engage in day to day social activities by listening, speaking, writing will weak and suffer in them. sometimes social apps give high prices and give it a discount leads to buying of more products which is very disgusting. For example, In France there is limit of using of social apps of buying goods online, rather go outside and buy frequently in market places to the adult as well as in teenagers to precure from any diseases.

T conclude, there are several methods and techniques which will have outstanding benefits of online platform. According to me, no only rely on social media or online platform, also use our own common sense of buying and selling goods or the services in a public place market.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the first body paragraph provides several reasons for the growth of online shopping, the second paragraph shifts focus toward the negative health and social impacts of social media usage, which is only tangentially related to the core question of whether physical shops will close. The argument lacks depth in explaining the economic or logistical reasons why physical stores might disappear, focusing instead on personal habits and health. To improve, ensure that every point directly supports the central thesis regarding the future of physical retail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and abrupt transitions. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To commence with', 'However'), they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between 'social media' and 'online shopping' is conflated, making the flow of ideas confusing. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear thematic focus, leading to a disjointed reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'forthcoming fragments' instead of 'subsequent paragraphs', 'green house effect more effective' instead of 'reducing the carbon footprint', and 'precure from any diseases'. Additionally, the repetition of basic terms like 'buying product' and 'social apps' limits the range. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to commerce and urban planning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('the growing population... lead to'), missing articles ('in our asian country'), and awkward sentence fragments ('Also have a free subscription'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be highly beneficial.
