Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern Era, Technology increasing by leaps and bounds. In this modern world people prefer to do online purchases instead of visiting in shops and malls. I am partially agree with this statement due to some reasons that I explains in upcoming paragraphs.
In this era people prefers to do online shopping instead of going in shops. they use online apps or websites where they easily find their items sometimes they get some discounts on some items if they buy it online. Doing online shopping also saves our time. we can easily buy anything on our fingertips by using online apps or websites. If we don't have time to go in market we can use internet for shopping. For example, Last month I was my friend's birthday I want to gave him a watch as a birthday gift. On that time I was very busy in my work so I don't have time to visit in store then I order it through Amazon.
Although, Some people says online shopping shopping is not batter than buying from a store by visiting. We can easily buy the thing at the same time whereas we need to do wait for delivery in online shopping or sometimes they delays our order. For example I ordered a shoes for my friend's reception. I ordered three days earlier from the party but my order delayed four days . Also Shopping from a store is cheaper than online shopping because we have no need to pay for delivery and packaging. Before buying the item from the store we can easily do our satisfaction by checking the the item with our hands like the material of thing.
In conclusion, Online shopping plays an important role in our daily life but buying by stores in towns are better because of the reasons that I explained in upper paragraphs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages of online shopping and the benefits of physical stores. However, the position is somewhat inconsistent; while you state you are 'partially agree', the conclusion leans more heavily toward physical stores being better. The ideas are relevant but lack depth. For instance, the argument about physical stores being 'cheaper' due to no delivery fees is a good point, but it could be further developed by discussing the social aspect of shopping or the economic impact on local communities. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the essay with more nuanced reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'In this era' and 'For example' are used frequently, and there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack clear logical flow, such as the transition between the benefits of online shopping and the drawbacks. Improving the variety of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'things', 'items', and 'shopping'. There are also several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'do our satisfaction' instead of 'verify the quality' or 'check the item'. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to commerce and technology. Avoid repeating the same words in close proximity, such as 'online shopping shopping' in the third paragraph, which suggests a lack of proofreading and lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people prefers'), tense inconsistencies ('I was my friend's birthday'), and article usage ('the the item'). There are also errors in sentence construction, such as 'I am partially agree' (should be 'I partially agree') and 'I want to gave him' (should be 'I wanted to give him'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic tense consistency and subject-verb agreement.
