Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's fast-paced world, many individuals hold diverse opinion on a wide range of topics. It is believe that due to overgrowth of online shopping can lead to close all shopping cities and town soon. I partially agree with this opinion and reasons of behind my argument will be discus further.

To begin with, no doubt the demand of online shopping is increasing day by day. Many individuals find online platform more convenient for shopping. Hence, it saves the commuting time and customer can get feedback below the product review. Additionally, special offers are available during festivals which saves a good amount of money along with great quality of product. There is no timing for window shopping. Individuals can order at any time and can receive parcel with in few days. For instance, mainly in Canada, it is found that usually mother's using an amazon platform to buy their children products and can expect to receive with 24 hours due to subscriptions.

On the other hand, the benefits of shopping in towns and cities should not be ignored. Many people are not aware to order online especially elder people. They usually prefer walk in for shopping. Moreover, customer can be able to check the fitting in trial room before finalising the items. Apart from this cash payment is available which is not possible in online shopping. for example, Indian people are still using cash for everytime. As, more people do not have much knowledge about online payment method.

In conclusion, the modern proliferation of online shopping is increasing which can result in closing of indoor shopping, which poses serious threat to the quality of life. No doubt, website shopping is convenient and secure but in person shopping brings comfort and satisfaction. In my opinion, a balanced approach is mandatory between online and offline shopping. Therefore, individual should respect both platforms.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear, partial position. You have identified relevant arguments for both sides, such as convenience for online shopping and the tactile experience of physical stores. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding Canadian mothers is a bit specific and could be better integrated to support the broader argument about convenience. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully explained rather than just listed. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, maintaining a consistent position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'reasons of behind my argument will be discus further'. Additionally, the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, which affects the flow. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly rather than relying on simple sentence starters.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proliferation', 'fast-paced', and 'mandatory'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'overgrowth of online shopping' (instead of 'growth') and 'close all shopping cities' (instead of 'closure of shops'). Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'feedback below the product review'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on more precise collocations and word forms would significantly improve your lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Many individuals hold diverse opinion', 'mother's using an amazon platform') and awkward sentence construction ('It is believe that due to overgrowth...'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in article usage and prepositional phrases. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of these errors is noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
