Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary times, one of the pressing issues widely faced by society these days is the proliferation of shopping through online mode compared to offline local retailers in towns or malls in megacities. From my perspective, I do not oblige by the statement as people still believe in 'Stop & Shop' trend and also it can act as a rejuvenating exercise. This essay would further examine it in detail with an appropriate illustration.
To commence with, due to advent of technology people have multiple resources available online where they can purchase through numerous platforms in their own convenience. Despite its ease, there are plenty of times when people opt for offline services over online. To cite an example, when shopping apparels, people would want to assure the feel of the fabric by its texture, size, quality and the fit of it before buying the product. Similarly, in cosmetic products as well, nowadays, the range of products available in market requires prerequisite check of its authenticity. In online shopping, there could be a probability of buyers getting forged with a second copy.
Moreover, due to hustling and bustling lifestyle, people prefer going out of their homes to break the monotony of life. Malls and local shops provide autonomy of variety of garments and also for instance, while, people living in rural regions travel to megacities for a one day trip to shop basic amenities, and also by visiting malls where their kids can alleviate themselves from everyday mundane life by spending time in game zones and eating junk food which is rarely available in smaller towns.
To recapitulate, without a doubt with the spike of online trend people have plenty of options where they can shop according to their convenience but however change is the spice of life. Everyone will still be reliable on traditional method of shopping these days.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position against the idea that all shops will close. The ideas are relevant, such as the need for physical inspection of goods and the social aspect of shopping. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding rural residents traveling to megacities is a bit tangential to the core issue of online shopping replacing local shops. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the main points presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'To recapitulate', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition from the discussion of product authenticity to the 'hustling and bustling lifestyle' in the next paragraph is a bit abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the reader can follow the writer's line of reasoning without significant difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated phrasing like 'proliferation', 'rejuvenating exercise', and 'alleviate themselves'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'do not oblige by the statement' (should be 'do not agree with'), 'purchase through numerous platforms in their own convenience' (should be 'at their own convenience'), and 'getting forged with a second copy' (should be 'receiving counterfeit goods'). While the meaning is clear, these inaccuracies prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'due to advent of technology' (missing article), 'when shopping apparels' (should be 'when shopping for'), and 'everyone will still be reliable on' (should be 'reliant on'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasing choices that impact the natural flow of the text. While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest that the writer has not yet achieved full control over complex structures.
