Student answer (Band 6.5)
In contemporary times, one of the pressing issues widely faced by the society is that one day retail shops and commercial malls will shut down due to the rise in the vogue culture of online shopping which provides ease of convenience to customers with its numerous perks and its associated advantages. In this essay, I disagree with the statement made as offline shopping is prevalent because of leisure time exposure which people can acquire to have a work-life balance and for healthy well being as well.
To commence with, in the fast paced world, spending time along with their loved ones like families, friends or kith and kin has become an uphill task for all group of people. Despite the fact, online multi-media platforms providing enormous range of options in wearable items, cosmetics and health care, but people still rely to check its authenticity by visiting the stores. Moreover, change is the spice of life and large malls allow an autonomy to the people to go out and relax along with their nearby ones to rejuvenate themselves from daily chaotic lifestyle. For example, people living in rural regions plan out a day trip to megacities to recharge and alleviate all the burdens of routine life.
Furthermore, such large-scale retail also provides plenty of options to all aged- group people to explicitly explore entertainment options like movies, food, gaming, and plethora of garment brands, which acts a one stop solution all under one roof. Additionally, to cite an example, traditional local retailers provide a wisdom of choice, to feel and select options in terms of texture of fabric, material, size, quality, comfort according to an individual requirement. Just for instance, two people whose shopping from the same local shops since many years will get personal attention and primitive offers of being regular customers.
To recapitulate, although, online commercialism is much in vogue these days but it cannot be said that people from all around the world would completely be dependent on it, as to break the monotony of lifestyle by making healthy lifestyle choices regardless of any fear of scams and frauds from online website.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding the social and experiential value of physical shopping, which supports your disagreement with the prompt. The ideas are generally well-developed, though some points, such as the mention of 'primitive offers', are slightly unclear in their expression. To reach a higher band, ensure that all examples are fully integrated into the argument; for instance, the connection between rural residents visiting cities and the future of retail could be more explicitly linked to the prompt's premise about the total closure of shops.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'To recapitulate' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be improved to better connect the idea of 'leisure' to the 'one-stop solution' concept. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate distinct ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, including phrases like 'contemporary times', 'rejuvenate themselves', and 'chaotic lifestyle'. There is an attempt to use less common lexical items, though some collocations are slightly unnatural, such as 'vogue culture' or 'primitive offers'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word choice, such as 'all aged-group people' instead of 'people of all age groups'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching the highest band for lexical precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you show control over complex sentences, there are recurring grammatical slips. For instance, 'people still rely to check its authenticity' should be 'rely on checking', and 'acts a one stop solution' is missing a preposition ('as'). There are also minor punctuation and article usage errors throughout the text. Despite these slips, the meaning is always clear, and the errors do not significantly hinder the reader's understanding of your arguments.
