Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to address the prompt effectively. The essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits the development of ideas. The content is largely incoherent, focusing on 'electrical issues' and 'weather' rather than the core debate regarding the future of physical retail versus online shopping. The position is unclear and inconsistent, as the writer oscillates between agreeing and disagreeing without providing logical arguments. Due to the lack of development and failure to meet the length requirement, the response does not adequately address the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. There is no clear introduction, body, or conclusion. Paragraphing is absent, and the flow of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. Cohesive devices are almost entirely missing, and the few attempts at linking ideas (e.g., 'moreover', 'in conclusion') are used incorrectly or in contexts that do not make sense. The progression of ideas is non-existent, as the text jumps between unrelated topics like electricity and online shopping.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'groth', 'eassy', 'disscuss', 'slove', 'people useing') that impede communication. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the word choice is often inappropriate for an academic or formal context. The writer struggles to use basic terminology related to the topic, such as 'retail', 'e-commerce', or 'consumer behavior', relying instead on simplistic and inaccurate phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is highly inaccurate, with frequent errors in sentence structure, verb tense, and subject-verb agreement. Almost every sentence contains significant errors, such as 'i'm write this eassy' and 'the parcel is come to client'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the basic sentences are often fragmented or run-on. Punctuation is largely ignored, which further complicates the meaning. These persistent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and prevent the clear communication of ideas.
