Student answer (Band 6.0)
Science and technology has increased day by day which has changed previous trends of society. Online shopping nowadays is one of the rising suns. Massive growth of online shopping has been recorded in public. Online shopping had affected local convenience store's, that's a fact. But leading all shops from towns and cities to close is a bit hypothetical. I partially agrees that it is possible but will discuss both sides. There arguments are strong I will articulate both sides points.
On one side, social media plays a big role nowadays, people follow various healthy or unhealthy trends from internet. Online platforms promote their businesses through social media. As a result, their popularity is shifting publics interest from visiting the store to visit e-shopping sites. Moreover, everything on online platforms is just clicks away, for example Amazon provides everything from a to z at their fingertips rather visiting different stores people prefer to open one application. These sites take less efforts and giving more results. Deals and offers like free home delivery are acting as a fuel in their growth which has created alarming problems to local vendors.
While flipping the coin, I think whether their popularity has increased they will affect local shops but are not powerful to shut them down completely. Because they have created strong networks in their local communities. some proportion mass trust them because people knows them, they knowns their production plants. For instance, people will prefer their local carpenter to buy furniture because they can see the material whereas anyone is not able to visit online sellers factories or sometimes even don't know who is producing the product. In my perspective, trust and their local relations will be their strong shield to fight with this problem in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument regarding the future of physical shops. You clearly state your position in the introduction, which is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the convenience of online shopping and the importance of local trust, the arguments could be extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The introduction is slightly repetitive, and the conclusion is missing, which affects the overall completeness of the task response. To improve, ensure you provide a clear, distinct conclusion that summarizes your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear shift between the two sides of the argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On one side', 'Moreover', and 'While flipping the coin', to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and some mechanical use of transitions. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of a concluding paragraph makes the overall structure feel incomplete. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a strong topic sentence would enhance the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'hypothetical', 'articulate', and 'local vendors'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'rising suns' (which is an idiom not used in this context) and 'taking less efforts'. Some phrasing is also slightly informal or unnatural, such as 'everything from a to z'. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that collocations are natural and accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Science and technology has', 'I partially agrees', 'people knows them', 'they knowns their production'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and misuse of apostrophes (e.g., 'store's'). These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your writing.
