Student answer (Band 6.0)
The evolution of online shopping will result in shops in towns and cities closing. I agree with this. Online shopping is more convenient and saves time.
Online shopping via our phones or laptops allows for convenience. Individuals do not need to leave their homes or places of work to shop for items. This helps to save cost of transportation and the stress involved in physical shopping. Many physical shops may not have the product an individual may need at a certain time. Due to the expansion of online shopping, individuals are exposed to different range of items at the convenience of their houses. For instance, an individual trying to shop for an unpopular spice, does not have to visit countless physical outlets to find it. They can simply search for this spice using the online applications in their phones and have it delivered conveniently.
Furthermore, online shopping helps to save time. People with busy schedules, finds it difficult to shop for groceries in physical outlets. With the evolution of online shopping, these people can purchase their groceries online. This helps to save time and allow them to allocate their time for more important things. For instance, a Medical Doctor with a busy work schedule, may find it difficult to visit a physical outlet to purchase a new pair of medical scrubs. They can simply connect with an online shop, send in their measurements and have the scrub delivered swiftly.
In conclusion, the progression of online shopping would result in physical shops closing down. I agree with this. Online shopping is stress free and helps save time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that online shopping will lead to the closure of physical shops. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like spices and medical scrubs, the argument remains focused on the benefits of online shopping rather than fully exploring the counter-arguments or the long-term implications for urban infrastructure. To reach a higher band, you should expand on why physical shops might not survive, perhaps discussing the social or economic aspects of city centers, rather than just repeating that online shopping is convenient and time-saving.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main points: convenience and time-saving. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'Due to' are used to link ideas. However, the transition between the introduction and the body could be more sophisticated, and some of the linking is slightly mechanical. The overall progression is clear, but the essay would benefit from a wider variety of cohesive devices to improve the flow between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'evolution', 'physical outlets', and 'allocate'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, particularly the frequent use of 'online shopping' and 'physical shops'. There are also minor collocation issues, such as 'different range of items' (should be 'a wide range of items') and 'at the convenience of their houses' (should be 'from the comfort of their homes'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and idiomatic expressions related to retail and urban development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors. For example, 'People with busy schedules, finds it difficult' contains a subject-verb agreement error (should be 'find'). Additionally, 'in their phones' should be 'on their phones'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, and try to vary your sentence structure further by using more complex subordinating clauses.
