Student answer (Band 5.5)
Through different forms of print and digital media,we come across reports that nowadays majority of people prefer online shopping because they have hectic schedule over the day even hardly get time for relax and go outside for shopping. There is an ongoing debate wheather online shopping will one day lead to all shops in cities and towns closing or not.As far as my opinion is considered,I strongly accede.
My stand can be justified with some intresting observations that most convincing point in this regard is that online shopping gives plenty of benefits. This view exits as customers can get their order within a day because online shopping gives very fast and free delivery. As a result, people prefer to do shopping online rathar than going outside. Moreover,my opinion can be bolstered with that fact that online shopping gives huge discount on many products like house hold products, clothes, shoes, jwellery, and many more. This hypothesis is buoyed in the Idea that people can get things with cheapest price which shops in towns and cities generally can not give.Consequently, they can save money and spend that money on other things.
Apart from these,I can not ignore the fact that online shopping gives exchange and refund policy to the customers.By this I mean that if customer do not like that product after receive it they can exchange that product even can get refund for the same.Furthermore, people can order any things on any time.A global research in this matter has proven that there are 90% people from my country who are always prefer online shopping that's why I think that shops in cities and towns will close due to online shopping.
All in all, future will unfold many surprises for us.The need is to be proactive and plough ahead with optimism.Craze of online shopping will increase in future especially among the youngsters.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for your argument, such as the convenience of delivery, discounts, and return policies. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the claim that '90% of people' in your country prefer online shopping is a generalisation that lacks nuance or specific context. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting arguments are more thoroughly explored and that you address the counter-argument—the potential survival of physical shops—more effectively to provide a balanced perspective, even if you ultimately disagree with it.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover', 'Consequently', and 'Apart from these', to link your points. However, some of these transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be improved by using a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect sentences more fluidly rather than relying on simple sentence-initial connectors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'hectic schedule', 'bolstered', and 'proactive'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'wheather' (spelling), 'exits' instead of 'exists', and 'jwellery'. Additionally, phrases like 'plough ahead with optimism' and 'craze of online shopping' are slightly informal or awkward in this context. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary is consistently appropriate for a formal essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'if customer do not like', 'people... are always prefer') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods throughout the text. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure will significantly enhance your score.
