Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this new era online shopping will incline one day lead to all shops in cities and town closing. According to my perspective I am going with both.

On the one hand, online shopping is increase day by day because individuals think it is a time consuming and they will buy anything at any time as well as they will buy the thing which they want because sometime people feel difficulty to find products which they want . Secondly, now a days technology is so advance, and it will increase in future as well It is also a major issue.

For Example, people in some countries love to do online shopping such as older once because it is difficult to go anywhere.

On the other hand, if online shopping increases people will become lazier if they don't go outside. Furthermore, rating of malls and cities will decline and empty nobody take interest to went their. For example, sometimes individuals buy something online and they didn't like it because sometimes product are brooked or stuff no good and also money wasting. Moreover, there are some scams nowadays and if they do that they will lose money as well also feel difficulty to find the original one.

In conclusion, In this new generation the rate of online shopping will lead to shops and town and cities there are some points which I agree and some points which I disagree with

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you present a position, the arguments are under-developed and lack sufficient depth. For instance, the point about online shopping causing laziness is mentioned but not expanded upon with clear reasoning. Furthermore, the conclusion is vague and does not clearly summarise your stance. To improve, you should ensure each paragraph provides a fully supported argument with specific examples, and you must meet the minimum length requirement to allow for full task development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and limited use of cohesive devices. While you use transition words like 'On the one hand' and 'Furthermore', the connections between sentences are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, the transition between the benefits of technology and the example of older people is abrupt. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would help the reader follow your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'things', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'product are brooked' (broken/damaged) and 'rating of malls' (likely meaning popularity or foot traffic). To achieve a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary and collocations appropriate for an academic or formal discussion, such as 'convenience', 'consumer behaviour', or 'physical retail outlets'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('online shopping is increase'), tense consistency, and sentence structure ('nobody take interest to went their'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or slightly flawed complex sentences. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring correct verb forms and prepositions. Proofreading for common errors like 'there' vs 'their' and ensuring consistent tense usage will significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
