Student answer (Band 6.0)
Online shopping has become more popular over time. This trend has been influencing the local stores in cities and tows. I believe that although online shopping makes it easy to shop, all shops could not be closed completely.
One of the reasons why shops should be remained is the real experience that it provides. By doing shopping in-person, customers can check the quality, in-store discounts and promotions which gives them chance to grab the deals quickly. Therefore, atmosphere of shops are really appealing to locate the products easily along with assistance that store employees provides to make wise decision while spending money.
Additionally, purchasing from shops allows people to spend their free time. When they go for shopping, they are more likely to bring their friends and family members. In this way, they can not only get suggestions on selected items but also can spend quality time. Overall, shopping is a significance way to stay connected and for making the best choices.
However, online shopping is in trend because of its convenience. people may not have enough time, so they order online which saves their time and money of transport. Despite this, online shopping could not be replaced with shopping in-store because local businesses invest heavily for layouts, designs and merchandising to maintain the standards of their companies.
In conclusion, although online shopping offers benefits such as time and money saving, it can not be replaces fully with shopping at stores in towns and cities because of real experience and personal preferences.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the total closure of physical shops. The ideas are relevant, focusing on the 'real experience' of shopping and the social aspects of visiting stores. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the point about 'atmosphere' and 'assistance' is mentioned but not fully explored with concrete examples. The argument remains a bit general throughout. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, detailed examples or hypothetical scenarios to support your claims. The conclusion effectively restates your position, ensuring the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices such as 'One of the reasons', 'Additionally', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally weak (e.g., 'In this way' refers to a broad concept rather than a specific antecedent). Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally clear, though the transition between the benefits of online shopping and the counter-argument could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'merchandising', 'convenience', and 'promotions'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural word choices, such as 'shops should be remained' (should remain) and 'shopping is a significance way' (significant way). Additionally, 'tows' is a spelling error for 'towns'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on collocations and ensuring word forms are used correctly will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'atmosphere of shops are' (subject-verb agreement: 'is'), 'employees provides' (should be 'provide'), and 'it can not be replaces' (should be 'replaced'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. You have attempted some complex structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and passive voice constructions. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences will be key to moving into the 7.0 band.
