Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument, but the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide reasons for the growth of online shopping and the continued relevance of local shops, some points are under-developed or rely on generalizations, such as the claim that 'most of the youngster support it'. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly explained with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive of the body paragraphs rather than synthesizing the argument effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'in the coming paragraph I discuss my points' or 'in this competition time'. There are also issues with referencing and logical flow between sentences; for example, the transition between the benefits of online shopping and the needs of handicapped individuals is abrupt. Paragraphing is present, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety and smoother transitions to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'local purchase' instead of 'local shopping', 'handicap unable to walk' instead of 'people with physical disabilities', and 'they are scary from the scammers' instead of 'they are afraid of scammers'. Spelling errors like 'leptops' and 'bacause' also occur. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal or repetitive language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'everybody have' instead of 'everybody has' and 'shops do not put' instead of 'shops do not charge'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and comma splices. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and the lack of complex sentence structures limit the score. You should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and using a wider variety of complex sentence forms.
