Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modren era and fast paced environment, most of the people are choosing online shopping rather than buying from an desired outlet.

A significant rise in online shopping can lead to all shops in towns and cities closing i will disagree on this opinion although everyone is moving towards online shopping trend most of the old people prefer in store shopping to ftouch and feel the quality.

On the one side of hand where present generation and working employees are moving towards trends and prefer shopping in the online applications instaed of going to stores where they can save time and try different types of clothing by using different technologies in the applications, browsing of different articles in a short period of time make it easy.

On the other hand some customers are more encouraged to go in store shopping rather than going to online shopping, Customer preferences changes accordingly to trends and mainting best customer service most of the customers will come to store to feel the quality of clothing and feel of clothing.

I will disagree to the statement although the growth of online shopping is more it wont lead to close all shops in towns and cities closing customers will come back to stores for the quality reason and they can't build trust on online so people wil prefer to go to stores rather than purchasing it in online and they want to support the local community in their town and area to build community stronger.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear stance against the proposition that all physical shops will close due to online shopping, providing reasons such as consumer preference for physical touch and supporting local communities. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitively expressed and lack deep extension, tending to circle around the same points regarding customer service and quality. Despite this limited development in places, the main prompt is covered well enough to satisfy the criteria for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, representing basic paragraphing. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. The writer uses phrases like 'On the one side of hand' (which is also grammatically flawed) and repetitive transitional markers. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and sentences often run together without appropriate punctuation or connective tissue, making the progression feel clunky in places. Overall arrangement fits the Band 5.0 descriptor as the flow is hindered by awkward cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their basic ideas about online shopping and physical outlets. There are attempts at less common vocabulary such as 'fast paced environment', 'significant rise', and 'local community'. However, there are numerous word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'modren era' (spelling error), 'desired outlet' (misused), 'ftouch' (typo), and 'online applications instaed of going to stores'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips place the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are numerous grammatical errors, missing punctuation, and run-on sentences that make reading difficult, such as 'closing i will disagree on this opinion although everyone is moving towards online shopping trend most of the old people prefer in store shopping to ftouch and feel the quality.' Complex structures often contain errors in clause connection and preposition usage. Because frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, the grammar aligns with Band 5.0 descriptors.
