Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era, Online shopping plays an important role in our daily lives. The stores in towns and urban areas will close one day because online shopping is increasing day by day. I am not completely agree with this statement because some people still like to buy products in shops. I am going to discuss some reasons with examples in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, there are some reasons why it will lead to all shops closing. First and foremost, it is not only convenient option but also it saves time. Nowadays, people do not have enough time because they are busy with their work. So, they tend to buy things online. What's more, online shopping provides more variety of things. Therefore, this encourages them to purchase things through online apps such as Amazon and Temu. Thus, growing the online shopping will led to close shops one day.
On the flip side, online shopping could not take place of stores because offline shopping allows individuals to check the quality and quantity of specific products by touching them. For instance, people are more satisfied if they buy clothes by visiting shops because they have an opportunity to try it. Also they can check the fabric of clothes. So it gives them happiness while shopping. Therefore, shops provide more benefits than online shopping.
In conclusion, although the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing, the importance and advantages of shops can not be ignored because it helps people to choose product according to their likes or dislikes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument regarding whether online shopping will cause all physical shops to close. In the introduction, the writer states, 'I am not completely agree with this statement,' presenting a clear position. Main ideas are supported with reasons and examples, such as convenience and the ability to check product quality. However, the conclusion contains a slight contradiction, stating that 'the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops... closing,' which conflicts with the earlier thesis. Despite this minor lapse, all parts of the task are addressed adequately, earning a band score of 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into four distinct paragraphs with a logical overall progression, moving from the introduction to supporting points, a counter-perspective, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'To commence with,' 'First and foremost,' and 'On the flip side.' However, referencing and paragraph links occasionally feel mechanical. For example, 'Thus, growing the online shopping will led to close shops one day' is a repetitive concluding sentence for the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, resulting in a cohesive structure that warrants a band score of 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including phrases like 'contemporary era,' 'convenient option,' and 'variety of things.' However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'online shopping could not take place of stores' instead of 'take the place of' and 'growing the online shopping.' Less common vocabulary is attempted with some inaccuracy. Spelling is generally good, and meaning is clear throughout, making this a solid fit for a band 6.0 in lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The writer attempts complex structures using subordinate clauses, such as 'Nowadays, people do not have enough time because they are busy with their work.' However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, including 'I am not completely agree,' 'it is not only convenient option,' and 'will led to close shops.' Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication, and punctuation is handled reasonably well. This performance aligns with the descriptors for a band score of 6.0.
