The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

There has been an ongoing debate about whether digital platform will force offline stores to run out of business or not.I do not fully agree with permanately closing of traditional shops as it has few aspects which is not possible via digital websites.In this essay I will discuss about both aspects of shopping.

Firstly, online platforms provides an essential factor which is convience.Person is able to buy commodity at anytime and anywhere.An individual does not need to spend time to travel.For example, one can order products while sitting at their home.Also,the service provided by this plaforms are accessible 24*7.Secondly, this websites have a wide range and variety of items within them which gives customer freedom to buy 'n' of products at same time.

On the other hand, visting to the store and purchasing has it own different sense of touch and feel. This provides a sense of relief to the buyer about the product which is not possible via ordering online.For example: while checking phones in stores and getting to know about features of it has its own essence. Moreover, consumer gets the product right away rather than wasting time on getting delivery which sometimes creates frustration amongst buyer.There has been numerous scenarios where customer where not been able to receive their parcel right on time.For instance, a person will not wait for dress to come after 2-3 days when the occasion is nearby.

To conculde, I believe that online shopping has convience and variety of products but essence of traditional stores outweighs the advantage of the former.Hence, this will also continue with digital platforms.
