Student answer (Band 6.0)
Technology is increasing rapidly. Nowadays, people prefer online shopping instead of traditional shopping, which will lead to shutting down all the shops from the towns and cities. I agree with this statement to large extend, which I will explain briefly in my upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are ample of reasons which tells that people are more into online shopping. First and foremost is, today's life is very busy. To explain this, people are becoming more workaholic, so they do not get spare time for shopping and traditional shopping takes too much time, which people can't afford as everybody believes that time is money, so instead of cancelling their important plans for shopping, they choose online shopping instead. Moreover, people are becoming lazy day by day. To elaborate this, because of too much work, people prefer to take rest on their holidays, so instead of going out, most people prefer to shop online and take rest or spend it with their loved ones instead of going out for shopping.
Furthermore, more options. To justify this, with the help of technology, we have more choices online, we can literally get anything that we want with just one click. We have more varities and options to choose from, which is not possible in traditional shopping, as they have limited options available. On the other hand, there are also some drawbacks of online shopping, as the quality is not same, there are chances of fraud. For example, I ordered cotton salwar suit last month for my birthday. As it was my birthday, I was waiting for my dress but unfortunately, when the dress reached, it was not of cotton, it was very bad quality, which means, they misguided, and when I try to return it, they do not take it back.
In conclusion, online shopping is growing and people are enjoying it as it makes their life easy, but it also have some drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position ('I agree with this statement to large extend') and explores relevant arguments. The student presents reasons related to busy lifestyles, convenience, and product variety, while also acknowledging potential drawbacks such as poor quality and fraud, supported by a personal example of ordering a cotton salwar suit. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive or underdeveloped, particularly regarding the inevitability of all traditional shops closing. The exploration of the counterargument is somewhat brief and conversational rather than fully integrated into the analytical flow. Despite these minor limitations, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a solid Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is frequently mechanical and repetitive, relying heavily on transitional phrases like 'To explain this', 'To elaborate this', and 'To justify this'. Furthermore, paragraphing is unconventional; the third paragraph abruptly introduces a new point ('furthermore, more options') and then immediately pivots to counterarguments and a personal anecdote without a clear break. Referencing is generally clear, but the rigid reliance on formulaic discourse markers prevents the writing from flowing naturally, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms such as 'workaholic', 'traditional shopping', and 'misguided'. There are, however, noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'ample of reasons which tells' instead of 'ample reasons which suggest', 'large extend' instead of 'large extent', and 'varities'. While these errors occasionally distract the reader, they do not impede overall communication. The vocabulary is generally functional rather than sophisticated, featuring a mix of common and some less common items, which aligns with the Band 6 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several run-on sentences and punctuation errors, such as comma splices ('...with just one click, we have more varities...'). Other minor errors include article omissions and subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'it also have some drawbacks'. Despite these frequent minor errors in complex structures, simple sentences are generally accurate and communication is rarely impeded, demonstrating the characteristics of a Band 6.0 performance.
