IELTS Writing Task 2 question
The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, there has been an excellent growth in online shopping and due to that, all the shops will be closed in the cities and towns. However, I am partially agree with this notion.I will be discussing it in the upcoming paragarphs.
To begin with, the enhancing number of people are intersted to do online shopping on day to day basis. The main reason behind this, human beings are no longer intrested to buy it from the shop as online shoping is easily accessible for them and it can save their time from their daily hectic schedule. As a result, all the shops are closed in towns and cities. For example, According to the media in the year 2024, they stated that, 80% of the public are prefering online shopping rather than offline.
On the other hand, some human beings are still intersted to buy it form shop as they wanted to check the quality, size and colour of an item. Due to this reason, offline shopping is still popular amongst the people. For instance, My aunt would prefer to buy it from the shop rather than online. She told me that, buying it from the shop will help people to do quality check.
To conclude, on agreement side, online shopping has its own drawbacks and eventually, it will closed all the shops in towns. Whereas, some of the humans are still chossing to buy it from shop to see the quality as buying online would not be helpful to them in their day to day shopping.
