Student answer (Band 5.0)

it is considered that the increasing online shopping will one day lead to all shops to be closed in the town or cities. I am totally agree with this point.

To commenced with, everyone time is so precious nowadays that not everyone can go outside and to buy their stuff I am not everywhere they get what they want but on online everything is there you can order anywhere you want in this world it's free access to them for example, if I want to buy An washing machine infect to buy from a store buying it online it will get me a cheaper rate and deliver it to my home and install it with the same warranty and less price.

Furthermore, I want to tell that people attracts from discounts and on online platforms you will find his number of discounts on any special occasions and people buy more of the stuff on festivals and don't like to be outside because I want to spend time with their family during festival. For example, if I am going to my back home on Diwali, so I will buy stuff from Blinkit than go to a supermarket which will cost me travelling and time, but on blanket, it will be delivered in 10 minutes to my home door.

In conclusion it stated that online shopping affects the town shops and can lead to closing of them because if no one take products from them, then they will not get any profit

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The candidate addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the statement that online shopping will lead to the closure of physical shops. The response covers the main parts of the task by providing reasons such as convenience, pricing advantages, and promotional discounts. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and relies on a narrow set of personal examples, such as buying a washing machine or ordering on Blinkit. While the arguments are relevant, they are not fully extended with broader societal or economic implications, which places the response securely at Band 5.5 to 6.0. The overall position is maintained throughout, but greater depth and elaboration are required to reach higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some organizational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, though the overall progression is somewhat hindered by weak transitions and dense phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'To commenced with' and 'Furthermore, I want to tell that'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the body paragraphs are excessively long and run-on, containing multiple ideas without adequate breathing room or clear internal signposts. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in pronoun usage ('on blanket, it will be delivered'). Overall, the cohesion does not meet the standard for Band 6 due to frequent awkward transitions and repetitive linking.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and displays noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The student uses basic vocabulary alongside attempts at less common words, but frequent word-choice and collocation errors occur, such as 'increasing online shopping', 'everyone time is so precious', 'people attracts from discounts', and referencing the brand 'blanks' or 'blanket' instead of the intended delivery service. Spelling and morphological errors ('To commenced with', 'An washing machine infect') further restrict the lexical score. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic argument, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and attempted complex structures, but grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent run-on sentences and comma splices, particularly in the lengthy body paragraphs where multiple independent clauses are joined improperly, such as in the example starting with 'for example, if I want to buy An washing machine...'. Errors in verb forms, prepositions, and articles are persistent throughout the essay. Although the meaning can generally be deciphered, the high frequency of grammatical errors and lack of punctuation control prevent the response from achieving a Band 6.
