IELTS Writing Task 2 question
The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, there are numerous people have purchased things from online platform because it is very convenient to them. However, most of the other people are buying their daily needful items form shops, which is available at their own city or town. Therefore, I do not believe that the growth of online shopping will one day vanished the all shops in cities or towns. This essay will discuss possible reasons behind it.
The foremost reason is that everyone has not enough financial aid to purchase essential items from online applications. Some local people would prefer to go to their nearby shops and streets. Moreover, it also provide benefits to the shopkeepers in their business. So they can be able to feed their family by getting enough money from their small businesses. For instance, shops give the items with proper insurance and the shopkeepers may give the surity for their products, which might not be possible if product has been bought from online websites. There is chance that they do some fraud wiuth their custor. Due to that reason, most of the people are not believing on online shoping. Instead they prefer go to the nearby location, where each and every things are available.
The another significant reason is that all the items are available in very low price. In online shopping, online vendors take the delivery charge. This charge has not been taken by the shopkeeper if the customer buys the products from their shops. In addition, buyers can get certain amount of discount, if they are regular customer of an individual shop. Moreover, they can also get the things of a better quality. In today's era, there are various companies, who are provided the default pieces to the customer. In this scenario, the trustful places would be shops, who can give an answer, if any serious concerns may arised.
In conclusion, although the ease of the delivery is much greater in the online shoppings rather than purchasing from shops, but shops and small business owners also provide some positive relationship with them in case of any crucial situation. Therefore, I disgree with the statement, which states that the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing.
